Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Clickyard, tracking, reports, and more.
General
What is Clickyard?
Clickyard is an AI-powered conversion analyst that helps you understand what drives conversions on your website. Instead of showing you dashboards full of numbers, it analyzes user behavior patterns and provides actionable insights and recommendations.
How is Clickyard different from Google Analytics?
Google Analytics shows you what happened on your website (pageviews, bounce rates, traffic sources). Clickyard tells you why users convert or don't convert and what to do about it. We analyze how users interact with specific UI elements and correlate that with conversions, providing AI-generated recommendations.
Do I need technical skills to use Clickyard?
No. Installing the tracking script takes about 60 seconds with Google Tag Manager. Marking UI zones is done by simply clicking on elements. Reports are written in plain language with actionable recommendations.
How long does it take to get insights?
It depends on your traffic volume. You need at least 100 sessions and ideally 10+ conversions for statistically meaningful insights. For most websites with moderate traffic, this takes 1-7 days.
Tracking & Data
What data does Clickyard collect?
Clickyard tracks user interactions with marked UI elements (view time, hover time, clicks), page visits, and conversion events. We also collect session metadata like traffic source, device type, and referrer. We do not collect personal data like names, emails, or payment information.
Is Clickyard GDPR compliant?
Clickyard is designed with privacy in mind. We don't collect personal identifiable information, and all data is used solely for conversion analysis. However, you should still inform users about analytics tracking in your privacy policy and consider consent requirements for your jurisdiction.
Does Clickyard slow down my website?
No. The tracking script is lightweight (~15KB gzipped), loads asynchronously, and is optimized for performance. It has minimal impact on page load times and Core Web Vitals.
How long is data retained?
Session data is retained for the duration of your subscription. Generated reports are stored indefinitely until you delete them.
Can Clickyard track single-page applications (SPAs)?
Yes. The tracking script automatically detects route changes in SPAs and records pageviews accordingly. No additional configuration is needed for React, Vue, Angular, or other SPA frameworks.
UI Zones
How many zones should I mark?
Start with 5-10 key elements that could influence buying decisions: CTAs, product images, pricing, reviews, forms. You can always add more later based on initial insights.
Do I need to mark every page?
Not necessarily. Focus on pages that are part of your conversion funnel: landing pages, product pages, checkout. Mark zones where users make decisions.
What if my website has dynamic content?
Clickyard uses CSS selectors to identify elements. As long as the selector remains valid (the element structure doesn't change), tracking will work even with dynamic content loaded via JavaScript.
Can I track elements inside iframes?
No, cross-origin iframes cannot be tracked due to browser security restrictions. If the iframe is same-origin, you'll need to install Clickyard on the iframe content as well.
Reports & Analysis
How does the AI generate insights?
We use Bayesian statistical analysis to identify correlations between element interactions and conversions. Then an AI model (powered by advanced language models) interprets these statistics and generates human-readable insights and recommendations.
How accurate are the insights?
All insights are based on statistically significant correlations (typically 95%+ confidence). We clearly mark findings that don't meet significance thresholds as "inconclusive." More data = more reliable insights.
Can I trust negative correlations?
Negative correlations suggest an element might be distracting users, but correlation doesn't imply causation. Use negative correlations as hypotheses to investigate, not definitive conclusions. Consider running A/B tests to confirm.
How often should I generate reports?
Weekly or bi-weekly reports work well for most websites. After making changes based on insights, wait for enough new data before generating another report to measure impact.
Can I compare reports over time?
Yes. Generate reports for different date ranges to track how changes affected user behavior. Save share links to important reports for historical reference.
Account & Billing
Is there a free plan?
We offer a free trial period for new users. Contact our team for current pricing and trial availability.
Can I track multiple websites?
Yes. You can add multiple websites to your account. Each website gets its own tracking code, zones, goals, and reports.
How do I delete my account?
